
Our client is an established supplier and procurer of military and aerospace electronic components. They have an excellent name in the market place and a string of worldwide contacts from which they are able to source appropriately specked parts. The company sell heavily into the likes of BA, Airbus and the military and have a current need for an industry related sales person to join their team.
Reporting in to the commercial director your role will include full responsibility for sales in the Southern part of England and any out of area accounts as determined by your immediate superior. You will generate sales enquiries which are consistent with the products and services marketed by the company to increase both the market share and profitability of the business. You will be negotiating with buyers, senior procurement people and production managers, but NOT military. You will maintain and increase market share from the existing customer base for all products and services supplied by the company. The portfolio will have a value of £1.5-£2million. The role is heavily account management biased, although ideally they are looking for you to increase new business accounts. You will identify key target accounts and generate additional market share for all products and services supplied by the Company. You will keep management informed of changes in market requirements or conditions in order to provide the products and services commensurate with strong and sustained growth. You will identify potential Kitting opportunities, promote the service and liaise with the Kitting Product Manager to facilitate direct marketing by the Kitting personnel. You will interface with your direct internal sales personnel to assist in the conversion of enquiries to orders whilst maintaining Company margin targets. You will ensure that your call plan is consistent with the marketing strategy of the Company whilst maintaining existing business and targeting significant opportunities. You will establish and maintain a watching brief on our most significant competitors and advise your immediate superior of any fundamental changes. You will maintain an awareness of our client’s market requirements in order that the company maintains a viable and successful strategic marketing strategy. You will assist in the preparation of and achievement of company sales and marketing plans.
If you wish to apply to this role you MUST have a previous track record in electronics or military components. We are looking for a structured person, but they must also have a little flair and creativity. The role is very much about forging strong relationships, so you must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust. We would consider looking at strong franchise distributor background or people from an electronic broker background.
